The bobbin provides the thread for the underside of the stitches a sewing machine forms.

Bobbins are not interchangeable between sewing machines. Bobbins are filled on the bobbin winder and the thread should be evenly distributed on the bobbin. It is advisable to have extra bobbins for your sewing machine so that you don't find yourself unwinding bobbins to change the color of the thread on the sewing machine
