The Blooming 9 Patch quilt is an old world style that has so much versatility. It looks really challenging but is incredibly fun to make because the patchwork is so simple. Each block alternates with a pieced block and when finished you come out with something stunning that your friends will rave about and you will be proud  to hand down from generation to generation.  Learn the unique twist on how to blend your fabrics to make this stunning quilt. You will be making a lap size quilt in class but you can enlarge that to a King Size Quilt when you know the technique.  You will also learn the technique of piecing it all together, making your quilt "sandwich" and the finishing touches to finish your masterpiece. This is a 3 session class all done within a week. Raye will guide you all the way and you, too will be a "Blooming Star"

Diamond Jacket

The weather is cooler and now is the time to make this interesting jacket You will also learn how to use a fun ruler called the Double Diamond ruler to enhance your design. Fancy jackets like this cost a fortune in the stores but you can learn how to make one for a fraction of the cost. Choose your favorite color combination. Maybe it's Black and White, Maybe it's neutral beige or grey or maybe you want to go vibrant and choose the jewel colors. In any color it will look stunning. The Vertical diamond strips are also very flattering. Then make another for a friend or for yourself in a different color.

Tessellations Blocks

 

The description says "Tessellations are patterns and designs in which only one template is used". It can be as simple as a square (I Spy), a triangle (Pyramids), or hexagon (Grandmother's Flower Garden) to name a few. In this month's class you will learn how to take a simple 60 degree diamond template to make a 6 pointed star and the tumbling blocks pattern. These blocks are used in many ways and Honey will teach you how to turn these into a placemat, a table runner or even a bed quilt from crib to king size. There are many Tessellation patterns and we hope to make this a monthly "block of the month" if we can get enough people to join the class. Don't miss out on learning how to make something that looks complicated but is  "easy when you know how" Oh yes, the template is free!!.

Bed Runner

The fashion now is something that is actually old world styling. This lovely bed runner makes a beautiful fashion statement but also can help to keep your feet warm on those chilly nights. Make one to match your bed, your guest room bed, or as a gift for someone special. The finished size is 36" by 78" and will fit a Queen Size Bed with overlap on the sides.
This 2 session class is a nice class for a beginner/intermediate student. You will learn how to do piecing, quilting and bindings.  The pattern is free. So choose some pretty fabrics and come sign up.

Floriani Software

Orientation Class;
This is the essential class for learning your new Floriani Software Suite program. This class is 90 minutes long and takes you through the basics of how to get around the program, resize, lettering and spacing and batch conversion. Laptop with program and update loaded is all that's required.

Project Class;
 This class takes you further into the program with special projects designed by Floriani software guru, Kathi Quinn. Each class will take you through the design elements of the project on your laptop, then we will transfer the design to your sewing machine to stitch out. Each class teaches you something new with your software. All makes and models of machines are welcome as the software can be used for any design format.

"One Block Wonder" Quilt

This quilt truly is a wonder because you only use one block to make it. Embroidery "101"

Tips and techniques for the beginning embroiderer.  Learn how to hoop your projects correctly, which is the best stabilizer to use for what project, and the right needle to use for the different threads. Our Instructors will also teach you how to position your embroidery just where you want it.  If this is your first time using an embroidery machine then this class is a must. This is a weekly class. These classes are the perfect way to learn how to properly use you new Embroidery machine. You can also use this series of classes to refresh your memory, or maybe learn new techniques, if you haven't used your machine for a while. If used correctly, you will get many years of enjoyment from your machine.

Foot Class Basic

No, we're not going to ask you to use your own feet to make anything. We are going to learn how to use the basic feet that came with our wonderful machines. So many times all we do is use the straight stitch/zig-zag foot and the rest of the interchangeable feet just sit nicely in our sewing boxes and never see the light of day. This class will put all that to end. You will learn how to use that wonderful zipper foot, by putting in a zipper. You will use your decorator foot and stitches by making an appliqué. Use that wonderful button foot to make perfect button holes. How about doing some hems on the machine instead of by hand using your blind hem foot. Most machines have an overlock foot and some have a modified walking foot, open toe or even a free motion darning/quilting foot. In other words, get out those unused feet, dust them off and make a project that will have you using some marvelous tools that come with your machines. Once you learn how great these feet are to work with, they will never get dusty again.
